Gmail sending under your own Google account
PubSheets can send pitch emails two ways. The default takes one click: connect Gmail through PubSheets’ Google app. If your company prefers that no third-party app sits between PubSheets and your Gmail, you can create your own Google “OAuth client” instead: a 15-minute, one-time setup, after which sending runs entirely under your own Google account, with no user caps and no unverified-app screens. Both options live in Settings; you can switch anytime.
- 1
Create (or pick) a Google Cloud project
Go to console.cloud.google.com signed in with your company Google account. Click the project picker at the top → New Project. Name it something like
YourCompany PubSheetsand create it. - 2
Enable the Gmail API
In the left menu: APIs & Services → Library. Search for
Gmail API, open it, click Enable. - 3
Set up the consent screen
Go to APIs & Services → OAuth consent screen.
If your company uses Google Workspace, choose Internal: this is the best option, because only your own staff can use it and Google requires no review at all. If you are on plain Gmail accounts, choose Externaland add your team’s addresses as test users.
App name: your company name. Support email: yours. Save through the remaining screens.
- 4
Create the OAuth client
Go to APIs & Services → Credentials → + Create credentials → OAuth client ID.
Application type: Web application. Name:
PubSheets. Under Authorized redirect URIs, click Add URI and enter exactly:https://pubsheets.com/api/gmail/callbackClick Create. Google shows you a Client ID (ends in
.apps.googleusercontent.com) and a Client secret. Keep this window open. - 5
Paste both into PubSheets
In PubSheets: Settings → Google OAuth (advanced). Paste the Client ID and Client secret, save. From that moment, every “Connect Gmail” click in your organization runs through your own Google app.

Each plugger connects once
Everyone on the team clicks Connect Gmailin Settings and approves. On Google’s screen, make sure the “Send email on your behalf” checkbox is ticked. Done: pitches now send from their own addresses through your own Google app.
Which route should we choose?
Default connection: fastest; you may see a one-time “Google hasn’t verified this app” notice, which is Google’s standard screen for new apps. Your own client: 15 minutes of setup, then no notices, no caps, and your email permission never touches anyone else’s Google app. Security posture is identical either way: PubSheets only ever sends the messages you write, when you click send, and you can revoke access anytime at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
